Our Yogic Journey: A Sharing Moment!
Namaste Jis, I just wanted to take a moment to share something I came across today after my practice.
Fifteen years ago, I attended my first Akhanda Yoga class. I was 19, and a friend from university invited me after class, saying, “You can't miss this, you're going to love it.” I had never practiced Yoga before; I used to meditate and chant Bija Mantras, but that was it. The young me couldn't possibly have realized the impact of that choice that day—I really couldn't. I went with no expectations, and I kept going the same way. Just practicing, because it felt right, it felt good. Something inside me told me, "Keep going, don't skip it." It was probably the first time in my life that a routine felt natural.
Then, after 11 years… I unexpectedly became a teacher. And then, all of a sudden, I was in India at the Ashram. Only now, after all these years, do I realize how effortless the whole path was, how natural, how everything fit into place. Every action was made with consciousness, yet in the present moment, without any foresight of what the future would bring. And that’s exactly how it was meant to be.
Today, I have this beautiful Yogic family, this community, and this practice that I can carry with me anywhere, anytime I need it. I’ve found myself, I’ve met myself—and through that, I can meet others on the same level because I am them, and they are me.
I’d love to hear about your own journey into Yoga, if you'd like to share. It would be so beautiful to read your experiences and have this moment together.
Thank you all for being here. Thanks to Guru Ji and the Nath lineage for creating this and making it accessible, available, and possible for all of us. And a big thank you to the lovely Prakashini Ji and the whole Akhanda Team that supports us IRL & online all the time!
♡ you all.
Hari Om Tat Sat!
